Electricity Economics: Your Key to Victory
Before making a decision, do the math first. Mining is essentially “converting electricity into digital assets.”
Pure Profit Area
Suitable for industrial mining sites and hosting. Even in a bear market, you can still make a profit.
DCA Mining
Ordinary commercial electricity prices. Obtain clean coins without KYC, suitable for long-term coin hoarders.
Energy Swap
It is difficult to make a profit simply by mining. The machine must be regarded as a "profitable heater", and the savings on heating costs are benefits.
Compulsory course for novices: Where does money come from?
Don't be intimidated by technical terms. The essence of mining is actually very simple, just like "working" for the blockchain network.
1. One sentence principle
"Mining = global decentralized accounting service."
Your mining rigs are performing trillions of calculations every second, helping the Bitcoin network confirm transactions and maintain security. In return, the system will issue you Bitcoin as a "salary" (block reward).
2. Do you need a dedicated fiber optic line?
"No need at all. Ordinary home broadband is enough."
Mining has very low traffic requirements and mainly depends on stability.
3. How does the money get into my pocket?

Terminology Literacy Dictionary
K/M/G/T/P/E/Z/Y/R/Q = 10^3 increments per level. Example: 1 TH/s = 1,000 GH/s = 10^12 H/s, 1 PH/s = 1,000 TH/s.
Energy efficiency indicator: How many joules are consumed per 1 TH/s. Power consumption (W) ≈ computing power (TH/s) × J/TH. The lower it is, the more power it saves.
BTC/LTC/BCH have periodic halving; DOGE has a fixed block reward; KAS, DASH, etc. adopt a continuous decreasing curve; PoS chains (such as ETH) have no mining halving.
PoW relies on computing power competition and energy consumption; PoS relies on staking and verification nodes and does not require mining machines.
The difficulty of the entire network increases as the computing power increases, affecting the output per unit of computing power.
Operational stability directly affects profitability. Hosting can maintain high availability and maintenance efficiency.
Exit mechanism
Worried about what to do if the machine doesn’t dig after you buy it? Don’t worry, ASIC miners are hard currency.
BTC Pool Revenue Simulator: Fee and Mode Comparison
Uses mempool.space live data. Customize your hashrate and pool fees to estimate how much different payout modes can change your yearly earnings.
PPS
4.0% FeeTx Fee Distribution
None
Net / day
$11.36
Net / year
$4,146
Most stable, but usually the lowest net. Best for miners who hate variance.
PPS+
2.5% FeeTx Fee Distribution
Yes (live)
Net / day
$12.09
Net / year
$4,413
The mainstream option: stable block rewards plus real transaction fees.
FPPS
2.5% FeeTx Fee Distribution
Yes (average)
Net / day
$12.09
Net / year
$4,413
Stable payouts. Transaction fees are paid using a network average.
PPLNS
1.0% FeeTx Fee Distribution
Full (high variance)
Net / day
$12.28
Net / year
$4,481
Highest long-term upside (low fees) but high variance. Not ideal for frequent pool switching.
PPLNS vs PPS Yearly Difference
Picking a lower-fee mode can be like saving the cost of a new miner every year.
Don't Let Hidden Costs Eat Your Profit (Hidden Costs)
Rejected Rate
If your rejected rate is over 1%, your latency is high, or your miner is overclocked too aggressively.
Rejected shares are wasted work. 1% rejected typically means about 1% less revenue.
Hidden Network Loss
Use a wired connection. WiFi mining often causes 1% to 2% packet loss.
Packet loss means the pool never receives your shares. It's money you don't see.
Payout Threshold
Small hashrate miners: a high payout threshold can mean waiting months for a payout.
Tip: set a threshold you can reach weekly or monthly based on your daily earnings.
Payout Timing
Pools often settle by UTC time (around 08:00 Beijing time) for the previous day.
Payouts usually arrive within 2 to 4 hours after settlement. Don't hop pools too often.
Be Careful With Proxies
Some "accelerators" hide a 3% to 5% fee that skims your revenue.
If your estimate is always higher than what you receive, a proxy fee might be why. Prefer direct stratum+tcp connections.
Exchange Deposit Traps
Mining directly to an exchange? If a pool payout (e.g., 0.0005) is below the exchange's minimum deposit (e.g., 0.001), funds may be lost.
Tip: mine to a self-custody wallet first, or double-check the exchange's minimum deposit rules.
* Data source: mempool.space API. Estimates only and not financial advice. Real mining returns depend on difficulty adjustments, pool luck, rejected rate, electricity cost, and more.
PPLNS assumes 100% luck and long-term uptime.
